Breast milk popsicles are a great option for babies – even before they are eating solids (just use breast milk in that case). My son loved these when he was a baby, and they are so easy to make!

Pro Tip – place a pacifier in the top of each popsicle for easy handling!

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces breast milk
  • 1/2 container baby food or mashed fruit

Instructions:

  1. Combine the breast milk and fruit in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture into popsicle molds.
  3. Freeze for 6-8 hours or overnight.
  4. Enjoy!

5 – Breastmilk Ice Cream

scoops of ice cream

Due to the heavy cream and sugar, I don’t recommend this one until after your baby is a year – and only in moderation. Because it requires a lot breast milk, this might be a good option for using up breast milk from your freezer.

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups breast milk
  2. 1 cup heavy cream
  3. ¾ cup sugar
  4. 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Combine the cream, sugar, and vanilla extract in a pot.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Remove from the heat, add the breast milk, and let cool.
  4. Pour into an ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Serve with your favorite toppings.

6 – Breastmilk Smoothie

Smoothies are one of my favorite recipes to use breast milk in because they are very simple to throw together and you can put in a variety of ingredients. Babies love these, and it’s a great way to teach your child to use a straw (I recommend a big silicone straw for these!)

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup breast milk
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 1 banana
  • Berries or other fruits

Instructions:

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into a baby-safe cup
